                              #13. About to Give Up? Suck It Up and Kiss Him!

Sakura ran around the house, almost screeching at the top of her voice. “NARUTO! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?” She had only gone on a short walk in the morning, and he had been asleep. But when she came back, he was gone. What scared her the most, was the fact that he still was not well. In fact, his fever had worsened. Then she heard a knock on the door. Immediately, she called out who she hoped it was. “Naruto?!”

It was not Naruto who had walked into the doors, but rather Jiraiya. “Uh…Sakura…I…have something to tell you before Naruto gets back…” he said nervously, rubbing the back of his head.

“YOU KNOW WHERE HE IS?!” Sakura screamed at him, and smacked him across the face. “Where is he?”

“Uh…well…I noticed that he looked sick…” the old Sannin stuttered. “And so, I gave him some medicine that I took from Tsunade…and well…” He started to back away, sweating all over. “Turns out I-”

Sakura didn’t get to hear the rest of it, for she saw Naruto walk into the apartment. “Naruto!” she cheered, and embraced the blonde. “Why did you just walk out like that? I was so worried!”

Naruto just stared down at her with a confused expression. “S-Sakura-chan?” he coughed.  He swayed a little, and rubbed his head. “Wh-what’s your problem?”
Sakura just stood there, hugging him tightly. Why? She was in a battle with her inner self.

Just kiss him! Kiss him now while he’s in your grasp!

I can’t do that! I’ll faint before I get the chance!

Oh come on! It can’t be that hard!

Her conversation was cut short as an overwhelming force took hold of her and pushed her up to Naruto’s face, causing them to kiss. Sakura was just as shocked as Naruto was, but they stood still, kissing. Sakura gradually came down, her face beat red. Naruto continued to stare at her. “S-Sakura-chan?” He grabbed his forehead, and swayed a little again.

“N-Naruto…I…didn’t mean to…I…kinda…well…love you, Naruto. I love you.” Sakura stuttered uncontrollably. Then she felt a large weight come off her shoulders. She had finally told him that she loved him. Sakura smiled, and looked up at him. But then, he fell to the ground, but not fainted. More like passed out. “N-Naruto?”

Jiraiya, who was still there, laughed a little. “Um…Sakura…” he started to talk again, knowing now that she did not hear him. “I don’t think it’d be wise trying to wake him…”

“Ara? Why?” Sakura asked him.

“Well…like I was saying…turns out I grabbed the wrong bottle…Instead it was…” Jiraiya dug around in his shirt and pulled out an empty white bottle with one kanji letter on the front. Sake.

“SAKE?!” Sakura screamed, and then looked to Naruto. “Then…that means…he was drunk? That’s why he passed out?”

“Uh…hai?”

“…” Sakura was crying inside. If he was drunk, that meant he would forget all about this, their kiss, and her confession. “JIRAIYA-TEME! YOU’RE GONNA DIE!!!”

Jiraiya yelped and ran out of the apartment, desperate to get away from the furious kunoichi. “GOMEN GOMEN GOMEN GOMEN!” He apologized over and over.

Sakura was fuming. “DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW HARD IT WAS TO CONFESS?! AND THEN FIND OUT THAT HE WON’T REMEMBER IT?!?!?! DIE YOU BASTARD!!!” she screamed at the Sannin, and took out a kunai.

Jiraiya screamed at the top of his lungs. “MOMMY!!!!”
